"A unique and joyous experience. Was handled by 'Transylvania Uncovered' and felt secure in the city of Iasi which is not widely known as a tourist destination. All the travel arrangements worked out well and the Romanian people are very hospitable once you get to know them. I had such a good time that I cried when I left! I highly recommended the Hotel Moldova's refurbished apartments as very large, and definitely value for money compared to UK prices. Finally, really struggled to spend more than £20 per day as everything so cheap. As long as you tip everyone at least 10000 Lei (20p to us) they will be ecstatic! "I feel I should thankyou for helping to organise our honeymoon in Transylvania. We had the most fantastic time. Count Kalnoky's, the food, the people, the scenery, the alcohol! Wow what a place. We are even considering buying a small property in the village, it's such a beautiful place. They treated us like royalty. We had champagne in our room. We had the whole house to ourselves, met the Count. We even managed to go bear tracking, much to M's (our guide) distaste! We were walking from village to village, through the forest, when we met a farmer. He sent us in the right direction, (as we were lost!) and got chatting. It turned out that he was the forester & offered to take us into the forest at dusk. We saw a bear, lots of boar, deer & hares. I must say it was the best evening of our holiday. The weather was very warm, one day of drizzle, and I really wish we'd had two weeks. Every evening we sat outside the little 'pub' and watched the cows coming home! "This was a most enjoyable and interesting holiday. The tour of Bucharest and, in particular the visit to the village museum was of great interest, and our young English speaking driver was able to give us an insight into the recent history of the country. The main purpose of our visit was, of course, to visit the Painted Monasteries of the Bucovina. This surpassed all expectations. We found the monasteries marvellous. Our visit was greatly enhanced by Sorin Fodor, our guide and driver, of whom neither my wife nor I can speak too highly. Quite apart from being a skilled driver and a good English speaker his enthusiasm and knowledge of the area and the monasteries waqs excellent and we would be grateful if you would pass on our thanks to him for the wonderful time he gave us. The friendliness of all the staff at Casa Elena also added to our enjoyment of the area."

Just to say thank you for arranging our trip. Wehad a wonderful time and managed to find my mother-in-law's house and various other places she wanted to see once more. Everything went very smoothly and we found the Romanian people delightful. Fortunately the temperature didn't quite get to 40 which was a relief as the trains were very hot, but people love to chat and try out their command of the English language so the train journeys pass very quickly. We even came across a few people who still speak thye old Saxon dialect so mum was thrilled to bits. We were a little apprehensive when we met at Simeria and learned that we were being looked after by the teenage sons of the family at Casa Bunea, but we were well looked after and taken on the various trips.
