These flexible tours enable you to discover either the remote mountains of northern Transylvania - home of
Bram Stoker's 'Count Dracula' combined with the mediaeval heartland of Transylvania, or the domains of the
real-life Vlad Dracula - Wallachia and the Burzenalnd around Brasov.
These tours can be organised and adapted for groups or individuals alike.

The following short breaks have been designed to be incorporated into your Romania holiday or can be taken as stand alone holidays. Prices are quoted without flights. However, we can also book all scheduled flight requirements and offer you full cover under our ATOL licences. Please note these are examples - they can be extended or moodified as required. We can also offer group tours or even incentives or treasure trails for clubs or businesses.

DAY 5: Personal tour with car and driver, first to Bistrita (Bistritz) where you can enjoy Jonathan Harker's meal at the 'Golden Krone' (optional) then onwards through the Mittel Land of the Carpathians to Targu Mures and the mediaeval walled town of Sighisoara - birthplace of Vlad the Impaler - Prince Dracula (info). 5 hours. Time to explore the old town before an overnight in a delightful historic hotel in the heart of the old citadel.
DAY 6: Board the express train to Brasov, taking you through the mediaeval landscape of Saxon Transylvania with its dramatic fortress churches. Arrival mid morning allowing time to explore the city or to take the bus to visit Bran Castle if you prefer.

DAY 7: Personal transfer by car over the Predeal Pass and through the Prahova Valley to Bucharest for your flight home

DAY 1: Meet & Greet service; transfer from airport; vernight in 3* Hotel in the old imperial capital of Cluj (info)
DAY 2: Free time to explore Cluj in the morning. Pick up Jonathan Harker's trail as you take the stopping train to old Bistritz (Bistrita), arriving mid afternoon. Overnight in theHotel Coroana de Aur (Golden Krone) where you could even dine on Jonathan Harker's meal (optional):

DAY 3: Follow in the footsteps of Jonathan Harker. First through the orchards and then the Mittel land so well described in the novel by car, then a local express train to Lunca Ilvei arriving at lunch time. 4. DRACULA: REALM OF VLAD THE IMPALER

DAY 1: Arrival at Bucharest Otopeni airport; transfer to the beautiful town of Curtea de Arges in the Carpathian foothills - one of the Courts of Wallachia under Prince Dracula. If time permits we can detour via Dracula's court at Târgoviste. Visit the spectacular Episcopal Church in Curtea de Arges

DAY 2: Drive up the Arges valley past the village of Aref to Vlad the Impaler's castle at Poienari - the genuine 'Dracula Castle' perched high above the Arges Gorge against a spectacular backdrop of the highest peaks, Dracula's wife jumped to her death from the ramparts to avoid capture by the Turks. We now follow the trail of Vlald he Impaler as he fled the Turks deep into the mountains around the beautiful Bran-Rucar Pass. We visit the famous fortress of Bran Castle before continuing deep into Transylvania to the mediaeval walled-town of Sighisoara, birthplace of Vlad the Impaler. Overnight in one of the romantic, historic hotels in the citadel.

DAY 3: Explore historic Sighisoara before driving through the unspoilt landscape of Saxon Transylvania to the old city of Brasov - often raided by Vlad Dracula who impaled his victims on a forest of stakes across the Tâmpa Hill. Explore the bustling, historic centre with its mediaeval architecture include the massive Gothic Black Church, This is a good place for souvenir shopping, boutiques, bars and restaurants. Overnight in a historic hotel in the town centre (Casa Wagner or Bella Muzica)
DAY 4: We leave Transylvania by the Predeal Pass and Prahova Valley, stopping to visit the spectacular Royal Palace of Peles in the mountain resort of Sinaia, before continuing to the airport (or into Bucharest if you wish to extend your stay in Romania).
